Rick Grove is a Licensed Auctioneer in the Beautiful
state of Ohio. We are located 15 to 20 minutes North of
Cincinnati, and about 30 minutes South of Dayton. With 20
years experience in the Antiques Business, he is known for his
knowledge, and the honesty and fairness with which he deals with
buyers and sellers. Unlike most auctioneers, he "Speak's" his
Chant, so you know just what he's selling, and for how much, but is
the speediest auctioneer around...
Jacob Grove
"Jake" Apprentice Auctioneer!
We are the proud
parents of our new Apprentice. Jake will now be working
the floor as "Apprentice Auctioneer" and "Ring Man", and the
occasional Clerk.. He no longer does the "grunt" work at the
auctions. Just before and after! Most of our regulars
remember him as a baby, and can't believe he's old enough
to apprentice, or that they've gotten so much older!
:)
Terry
Foster Who joined
us when we moved into our new location in 2006, is
also a Ohio Licensed Auctioneer, is kinda Quiet with an obvious
presence, helps sell in the back with Box Lots and Miscellaneous
items, and is up front from time to time.
***Up Front with Rick is
Brian Sweitzer*** Our
Clerk....One of the hardest, most boring, and most tedious
jobs is "Clerking", especially because of the speed in which
Rick sells, and Brian doesn't miss a beat keeping up with
him....He has the speediest pen in Cincinnati
OFFICE
STAFF
Our auction is family run,
"Sheri" Rick's
wife that's me, works as the Cashier, Paper Pusher, Web
Designer, Problem Solver (we don't have many of those
:), and general Welcome Wagon.
Along side of her is the
lovely Marlene
Brown. She's been a trusted friend for many
years, and like one of our family. She keeps the bidders
tickets straight, Keeps me "Sheri" straight, Helps with Checking in,
and out, and general Welcome Wagon # 2....
A new addition in the
office but a very familiar face at the auction is the lovely Jenny
Schuler, . She has been filling in for years in just
about all areas. She is now a permanent fixture back in the
office.
A new addition
to our Auction staff is Cheryl
Sloneker. She wears many
hats. You will see Cheryl Clerking, Running Sheets,
Working the Ring, Working in the office, and......She is the main
reason Consignors get their check on
time......!
Also at the office or
Snack Area you will see from time to time Lucy Harrison (Ed's better
half) in the early part of the evening helping out and if you've had
the pleasure of tasting her baking you would know why we chose the
Snack Area.
FLOOR
CREW
Young
Rookies
Rick & Sheris "Sons"
Jake
and Matt
have been around the business from the time that they were just
a "Whisper", Many of our Bidders can attest to that, act
as ringmen, sheet runners, loaders, and any other "needs done"
things.....They're learning the business with the help of our
professional and yet "fun" floor crew....and of course Mom and
Dad..Additionally we somehow adopted "Jimmy Cole" who will
help out with anything on the floor or office. All three
appreciate the occasional "Tip" for their loading
abilities!
Getting down to the
Nitty Gritty with the old Crew
***Mark Roads*** who with a
bit of "humor", has fun in displaying and describing
the merchandise, making sure it gets to the buyer, and running
back for more goodies.
***Gene Tipton*** Helps
during set up, helps at houses picking up Treasures and handles the
Left side of the Room making sure the Treasures are evenly spaced
out, has been in the auction business for (Many, Many) "we won't
tell his age", years.
***Then
there's the Lovely Carol
Sweitzer*** Who smoothes the rough edges of
the Male Crew up front and "tries" to keep them in line,
although "this doesn't always work" their a lively bunch. She
handles the Jewelry, and Showcase items up front.
***Ed Harrison*** will work the
Snack Area, Help on the floor in the Back, and do general running
around depending on what's needed, You will see him everywhere
some nights....
Jr. Simply Walks the
Floor, Watches the Doors, and even catches the occasional Bid while
doing all that! What ever it takes!
*** Behind the
scenes Charlie
Kniepp. He helps getting the consignors in and
out in a timely manner....Packing, unpacking, and loading Treasures
we pick up from homes and estates. He's working with Rick all
hours of the night and day most of the week, doing what ever it
takes to prepare for Wednesday Night, and very
much appreciated.
***Also behind the scenes
and working late hours is Steve
Kniepp, who helps keep our Auction Facility top
notch, and looking "Spiffy".
And what were
working for is to Please our Consignors and
Bidders....
THEY
ARE THE BEST
At
our auctions the items we offer are always
changing. Unfortunately or "fortunately" there are always
many wonderful surprises once Wednesday night comes
around that have not been advertised either here or in the
papers. We advertise in many different papers and Trade
Magazines hoping to reach a wide range of buyers
....
We are geared towards the antiques and
collectible market. We also hold a "BOX LOT" sale before
our 6:00 auction event. These box lots have a lot of great
"treasures". Check out our "Auction Dates" page to see upcoming
auction previews and dates......
